Christopher M. Butler

Chris Butler is originally from Olathe, Kansas. He received a BA in Political Science from the University of Kansas, an MBA from Baker University and has an MA in Economics from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He is working on a Ph.D. in Economics from UMKC.

Mr. Butler's work history includes stints as a stockbroker, manager of a brokerage firm and a three-year period at a large no-load mutual fund company. He has been quoted in several local newspapers, magazines and radio stations and is considered a local authority on alternative investment strategies and the management of bonds. Mr. Butler is very active in adult investment education, giving several lectures per year on a variety of subjects.

Mr. Butler is the co-manager of both the equity and fixed-income portfolios. He enjoys watching college basketball, running, studying economics, and staying abreast of current events. He is active in his local church and currently resides in Leawood.

Tim Lanz

Timothy E. Lanz is originally from Louisburg, Kansas. He received three Bachelor of Science degrees from Kansas State University: International Business, Management and Marketing.

Mr. Lanz is BLW’s operations manager, managing the firm's accounting procedures and overseeing the daily tasks necessary for the smooth running of an investment management operation. Mr. Lanz is also the co-manager of the fixed-income strategy.

Mr. Lanz is married to Darcy and they have a German Short-Haired Pointer named, appropriately enough, Happy. They reside in Olathe where Tim enjoys hunting, fishing and restoring classic cars.

Lucas B. Wagler

Lucas B. Wagler is originally from Hutchinson, Kansas and obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Hutchinson Community College. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas where his major was Marketing. Mr. Wagler played basketball for both institutions on scholarship.

Mr. Wagler co-manages the equity strategy and directs the firm's marketing. He is married to Jennifer and they have three children. The Wagler family lives in Overland Park and enjoys boating, tennis and golf.
